"OFW Family Day" set

TAGBILARAN CITY, December 1 (PIA)--Boholano overseas foreign workers (OFWs), their dependents, and their immediate family are all invited for a pre-Christmas event set in Dumaguete, December 11, 2016.
Billed as OFW Family Day 2016, the event is a rotating celebration of unity among OFW Family in Central Visayas, according to Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bohol chief German Guidaben.
At the Kapihan sa PIA Thursday, Guidaben said Bohol has 100 slots for the Dumaguete event, and the DOLE is implementing first-come, first served basis in handing out meal coupons and raffle tickets.
The day includes OFWs Christmas treat to Indigent Children in Dumaguete, OFW talent competitions billed as OFW got Talent, Fun and entertainment as well as a raffle where fabulous prizes are at stake, adds Senior Labor and Employment Officer Cora Monroid at the redio forum aired live in facebook and at DyTR in Tagbilaran.
While there is no registration fee collected, DOLE Bohol said those interested to join the event needs to preregister at the Bohol DOLE Office and look for Cora.
The event, done in partnership with DOLE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and PESO in Dumaguete, intends to gather OFWs and their kins for a daylong acquaintance and camaraderie.
The event, set at the Atrium of the Robinsons Place in Dumaguete, starts at 10 AM with the Christmas Treat to indigents and picks pace with the 1:00 PM OFW Talent Competitions with huge prizes, Guidaben said.
Also up for grabs, are fabulous prizes for the raffle draw, DOLE said, recalling that organizers gave out a motorcycle, computer set and other gadgets in the previous pre-Christmas gatherings. (rac/PIA-7/Bohol)
Camaraderie and unity among OFWS, which according to DOLE's Guidablen, accounts for the region's gathering of foreign workers set this year in Dumaguete.
