Sandugo '16 opens TBTP for
TAGBILARAN CITY, July 2 (PIA)--The sacred sense of homing opens a perfect opportunity to showcase its best not just to tourists but to the Boholanos in their ventures all over the country, Bohol in partnership with the private sector launches Tigum Bol-anon sa Tibuok Pilipinas (TBTP) which loosely translates into a gathering of all Boholanos across the Philippines .
A new offering along with the plenty lumped with the Sandugo season, TBTP aims to draw fellow Boholanos living outside the province to come home and celebrate with us, as well as enjoy the same fun, excitement and spirit of camaraderie, writes TBTP Chairperson Romulo Tagaan.
The TBTP, set 22-23, 2016, adopts the theme “Tanda sa Atong Mga Kaliwat,” as a welcome and recognition to locals who have long left Bohol and are now successfully doing their ventures elsewhere in the country.
Presented as an offshoot of the now triennial Tigum Bol-anon sa Tibuok Kalibutan (TBTK), the TBTP provides the venue for Philippines based Boholanos that singular chance to take the hospitality spotlight, given the center-stage of the showcase of the celebration of fun, brotherhood and Bohol bounty.
The TBTK, an event conceptualized after the umbrella Confederation of Boholanos in the USA and Canada (CONBUSAC) first came to Bohol after the provincial government through then Governor Rene Relampagos invited the biennial gathering of Boholano organizations under it to hold the event in Bohol.
Relampagos idea was to allow the Provincial Government to showcase Bohol to homecoming Boholanos and for the organized investment group Bandilyo Bol-anon to motivate homecoming Boholanos into investing in Bohol.
From a biennial CONBUSAC, TBTK assumes a new life as a triennial event in Bohol, for Boholanos abroad.
Since then, Boholanos in the Philippines have asked a similar event, thus the TBTP, governor Edgar Chatto shared.
Presented in partnership with Bohol's private sector, TBTP is envisioned to become an annual event that, like the TBTK is a special showcase of tourism, investment and the chance for the bayanihan.
For this organized event, homing and homecoming Boholanos register to book slots to heritage tours with Boholano favorite merienda, luncheon with the governor during the Bohol Day Commemorative Program, seats to the fellowship dinner and entertainment at the Be Grand Hotel in Panglao, free transfers, special seats during the Sandugo streetdancing at the CPG Complex.
Registrants also earn hotel discounts and other freebies, organizers assured.
"More than that, we are expecting Boholano associations coming from different provinces and hopefully, come up with set of officers or set a meeting relative to it and plan for other activities in the coming year," Tagaan said.
