DTO holds 3-day One DTI Services

TAGBILARAN CITY, May 20 (PIA)--Integrating the delivery of its services extended by its widespread units, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) puts in Negosyo, Konsumer at Iba Pa (NKATBP) on a three-day opening salvo at the MarcoPolo Hotel in Cebu, June 9-11.

DTI Regional Director Asteria Caberte said the DTI is conducting the breakthrough event called One DTI Services, also known as NKATBP and brings all DTI services including that of the Consumer Protection Advocacy Bureau and the Bureau of Product Standards, as well as other frontline DTI services.

This 3-day event aspires to heighten, not just the general public's awareness but also especially the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and consumers about the services offered by the DTI, Caberte said.

NKATBP will serve as an avenue to drive at full speed the development of MSMEs through the integrated delivery of various services being extended by the different units at DTI, she added.

Among the services DTI offers during the three-day event is a seminar on Consumer Awareness and Product Standards  which the government is conducting in partnership with the Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau, on June 10 2016.

Also pitching in for the one day seminar at the Quest hotel along Archbishop Reyes Avenue is the DTI's Bureau of Product Standards.

On the seminars, Caberte, who is a multi-awarded DTI executive said this will served as an avenue to inform and educate  the general public and the consumers on their basic rights and responsibilities as well as instill product safety and quality consciousness.

Aside from these, the DTI is also expected to put up a showcase of its Shared Service Facility assistance as among the most visible rural development initiative of the department.

Another innovation which the DTI is now putting up is the setting up of its Negosyo Centers: an assistance mechanism that would guide investors and entrepreneurs in putting up their businesses in the regions. (rac/PIA7/BOhol)
