TAGBILARAN CITY, May 27 (PIA)--The province of Bohol is a priority target area for 2016 under the geohazard assessment and mapping program of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) from May-June 2016.
MGB-DENR teams are conducting a karst subsidence hazard assessment and mapping in the province.
It aims to delineate critical zones for sinkhole collapse and with the results to be provided to the local government units concerned and the would be affected communities.
Gov. Edgar Chatto yesterday met the survey teams from the MGB led by Ma. Elena Lupo, Region 7 supervising geologist.
The MGB survey team is comprised of geologists from MGB-DENR Regions CAR, 1, and Regions 6-12. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
