BCDS trains Capitol writers
drafting issuances, memos

Tagbilaran City, November 25 (PIA)--Enough of the poorly worded and awkward memoranda and official communications.

Fed up with communication bloopers made official, Bohol Bohol Center for Development Studies (BCDS) takes the task of spreading the right skills to Provincial Government employees in drafting issuances and officials communications.

In a training workshop on Executive Issuances and Legislative Measures conducted August 5, at Casa Rey Francis, six Bohol offices sent their key personnel engaged in such technical stuff to train on drafting issuances, memoranda, executive orders, resolutions and even in drafting ordinances.

Resource persons engaged writers from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV), Bohol Environment and Management Office (BEMO), Bohol Investment and Promotion Center (BIPC), Bohol Tourism Office (BTO), and the Center for Culture, Arts and Development for the tasks.

Veteran writer and former Bohol administrator Romeo Teruel as well as legal researcher and writer Ric Obedencio took the activity to a skill level that can only be equaled by formal scholastic course.

Teruel talked about executive issuances while Obedencio shared knowledge on legislative measures.

The BCDS, Capitol's key research and development policy arm aimed to aquaint writers from participating offices with the technicalities of writing official documents.

The workshop allowed the participants to draft sample issuances such as memoranda, memorandum orders, memorandum circulars, executive orders, resolutions and ordinances while the resource speakers expressed their constructive criticisms .

The activity ended with a closing address by Mr. Alfonso R. Damalerio II, Provincial Administrator of Bohol. (rac/PIA7/Bohol with Lloyd Peter Estomata)
